Most all beaches in Hawaii are public and have FREE access. Swimming, snorkeling, boogie boarding, sunbathing and sunset watching with great photo opportunities are abundantly available throughout the Hawaiian Islands. Please use caution when entering the water. DO NOT snorkel, swim, etc. when the water is murky and there is limited visibility in the water. ACTIVITIES:

Anahola Beach - Kauai

Anahola Beach is located on the East side of Kauai, south of Anahola Bay. This family friendly beach is secluded and easy to drive to. This beach is great for swimming, snorkeling, boogie boarding, shell hunting, fishing, and is great for picture taking.
Shady areas make great for picnicking, camping facilities are available. This beach is a local favorite and is very crowded on the weekends.

Anini Beach - Kauai

Anini Beach is considered to be one of the safest beaches on Kauai's North Shore.
It's unique conditions makes this beach an excellent place for snorkeling, SUP (stand up paddle boarding), surfing, and wind surfing. Anini beach is known to have strong rip currents in the channels and outside the protective reef area. It's also great for sunbathing or just laying out and reading a book.
Camping is available with proper permitting. There are lots of shady areas, picnic tables, pavilions, restrooms, and showers.
NO LIFEGUARD ON DUTY. Always use caution when entering the water.

Baby Beach Poipu - Kauai

Baby Beach in Poipu is located on the South Shore of Kauai. This small secluded beach is great for families with infants and toddlers. The rocky reef acts as a natural protective barrier that keeps the waters calm and crystal clear.
Located off of the more popular Poipu Beach Park, the shallow calm waters make it ideal for families. It is also not uncommon to to sea the Hawaiian Honu (sea turtle) and Hawaiian Monk Seal. These animals are protected and it is against the law to get close, touch, and/or feed them. Make sure to keep your distance.
Finding this beach is a little tricky. From Lawai Road make a left on Ho'ona Road and look for the yellow pipe that marks the beach access.
Great for snorkeling, swimming, tide pool exploring, shell collecting.

Makena Beach State Park, Big Beach - South Maui

One of Maui's signature beaches, Big Beach is home to BIG shore breaking surf. Beautiful stretch of white sand extending nearly 2/3 of a mile long and crystal clear blue waters.
Great for sunbathing, swimming, snorkeling, boogie boarding, skimming and body surfing.
Use extreme caution during big surf. Read all posted signs and ask if flags are posted.

D.T. Fleming Beach ~ West Maui

Named America's Best Beach in 2006, this beautiful white sand beach is located on Maui's West side in Kapalua. Facilities include restrooms, showers, and picnic tables. There is shady and grassy areas.
Great for swimming, snorkeling, boogie boarding, and sunbathing.

Use caution when there is a big surf. Pay attention if signs and/or warning flags are posted.

Hanalei Pier - Kauai

Located on Kauai's North Shore, Hanalei Pier is a Historic Land Mark that was originally built around 1892 out of wood. The pier was built and used as a working pier to load and off load sugar and other good to and from ships. Fully resotred in 2012-2013 spearheaded by the Hanalei Pier Canopy - Save the Pier.
Today the Hanalei Pier is both a landmark and a favorite recreation spot. Great beach for Surfing, boogie boarding, SUP (stand up paddle board), Swimming, Sunbathing, Family fun, sunset watching.
There are picnic tables, pavillion, restrooms, and showers available.

Hulopoe Beach Park - Lanai

Fronting the Four Seasons Resort Lanai, Hulopoe Beach is considered to be Lanai's most popular and accessible beach. This beautiful white sand beach is great for swimming, snorkeling, surfing, sunbathing, shell hunting and has numerous tide pools for exploring.
There are bathrooms and picnic facilities available.

Kamaole Beach Parks I, II, & III - Kihei - South Maui

Kamaole Beach Parks I, II, & III are all located next to each other right off of South Kihei Rd. Each park has ample parking, and is great for swimming. A local favorite Kamaole Beach Parks is equipped with BBQ grills, picnic tables, and excellent swimming conditions.
Great for swimming, boogie boarding, snorkeling and picture taking. Beautiful sunsets.

Kaanapali Beach ~ West Maui

World Famous Kaanapali Beach is home to one of Maui's most famous white sand beaches. Swimming, snorkeling, sunbathing, and breath taking sunsets can be found here. You can also experience the Sheraton Maui's FREE Cliff Diving ceremony that takes place daily at Sunset from Pu'u Keka'a or commonly known as Black Rock.

Always use caution when entering the ocean. NO LIFEGUARD ON DUTY.

Launiopoko Beach Park - West Maui

Located right off the highway Launiopoko Beach Park is a great beach for families with small children. This local favorite features a small pond that is protected by a rock wall. Lots of shade and grassy areas.
Great for snorkeling, swimming, surfing, SUP, & Sunsets.

Facilities include: grills, restrooms, picnic tables, showers.

Sunset Beach - Northshore - Oahu

One of the longest sand beaches on Oahu. In the summer, Sunset Beach is beautiful, calm and great for swimming and snorkeling. There are also little tide pools that are great for shell collecting. During the winter months Sunset is home to waves as large as 20ft. high. Swimming and snorkeling are not recommended during the winter months (October - April) due to large waves and the notorious Sunset Rip, a very strong rip tide current. During June - September incidents of a stinging limu have been reported.

Always use caution when entering the water and obey all posting and warnings.

Waikiki Beach - Oahu

This famous stretch of beach is 1 1/2 miles long and in high season is packed towel to towel. Beautiful soft white sand and excellent swimming waters. Discover why Waikiki attracts nearly 5 million visitors a year.
Great for swimming, snorkeling, surfing, sunbathing.

Always use caution when entering the watering.

Waimea Bay - Oahu

Experience on of Oahu's most iconic beaches. Waimea Bay is home to big wave riders as surf reaches 30+ feet during winter (October - April). Huge waves and strong rip currents make it very unsafe to swim or enter the water, but make great photo opportunities. The Eddie Aikau Invitational is held here in honor of Eddie and his heroic efforts of the Hokulea Voyage.

During the summer months, May to September, the bay is calm and glassy and great place for swimming, snorkeling, and diving.
