Guided and self paced bicycle tours of Haleakala volcano on the island of Maui.
The bike ride is approximately 26 mile from the entrance of Haleakala to the beach in Paia Town.
Round trip transportation for the Sunrise Tour, windbreaker jacket, helmet provided.

The Sunrise Journey is our most popular tour and seating is extemely limited! Your tour begins with hotel pick-up and tour to the Summit of Haleakala. Tour guide will provide you with a history of Haleakala, its geology and an explanation of rare plants and animals only found on Maui.
Upon arrival at the summit you will be escorted by your mountain guides to the rim of the crater where you will view the spectacular sunrise.
Your tour then proceeds to the 6,500 foot level of Haleakala where you will receive a comprehensive safety briefing from Mountain Riders Staff and begin your 26-mile bike ride down the slopes of Haleakala - the world’s largest dormant volcano. Your journey proceeds through Haleakala Ranch and continues through the upcountry community of Kula. The ride continues through Makawao Town, riding through sugar cane fields, and continues down to the Pacific Ocean and ending at Paia.
Tour includes beverage service with a light snack (water with an assortment of granola bars) at our base-yard office,helmet and state-of-the-art volcano chrome cruiser bikes.

YOU MUST BOOK YOUR TOUR IN ADVANCE.
A highlight for most visitors to Maui—if not all of Hawaii—is experiencing a guided bike tour down Maui’s dormant volcano – Haleakala. Guests can enjoy this experience in an active way. Bike 26 miles (42 km) from just outside of the Haleakala National Park boundary, located at 6,500 foot level, all the way down to the ocean at Paia.
Guests meet us at our office/baseyard (parking located at 886 Hali'imaile Rd., Makawao, Hi 96768)...where we will start guests off with a cold beverage and a snack.
From our Office, we will transport guests to the 6,500′ level and your tour guide will provide you with the history of Haleakala, its geology, and the rare plants and animals found only on Maui. Watch the predawn colors from this location, and then you’ll be fitted with a bicycle and helmet to start your guided bike ride.
Pedal downhill, riding along switchbacks, through Haleakala Ranch, and past Kula. Continue through the towns of Makawao and Paia, and finally reach the Pacific coast at Paia.

A guided van tour takes you to the entrance of Haleakala National Park & from there, you enjoy the freedom of biking Maui at your own pace! You will begin your self paced Tour at approximately the 6,500 feet level, downhill through Haleakala Ranch, Kula, Makawao and finishing at Paia
We include a cold beverage service and granola bars. We provide transportation to the entrance of Haleakala National Park, Volcano Chrome Cruiser bikes, Full Face Helmets. Cruiser bikes, & helmet. Upon completion of your bike ride, shuttle service back to our Office/Base-yard will be provided.
The Mountain Riders Haleakala Self-Guided Day Tour is an unguided bicycle tour (approx 19 miles). A guided van tour takes you to the entrance of Haleakala National Park & from there, you enjoy the freedom of biking! You will begin your self paced Tour at approximately the 6,500 feet level, downhill through Haleakala Ranch, Kula, and finishing at Makawao Town.
We provide transportation to the entrance of Haleakala National Park, Volcano Chrome Cruiser bikes, Full Face Helmets, Windbreaker Jacket. Upon completion of your bike ride, shuttle service back to the Pi'iholo Ranch Adventures for the Zipline portion of this activity will be provided.
