The Kahanu Garden Self-guided Tour allows you to explore one of Hawaiʻi’s richest cultural landscapes on your own schedule. Located in Hāna on Maui, the garden is home to Pi‘ilanihale Heiau, believed to be the largest ancient structure in Polynesia. As you wander, you’ll connect with native and introduced plant species, discover traditional uses for these plants, and absorb the mana (spiritual energy) of this sacred place. The garden is open Monday through Friday, 9 AM–3 PM, with last entries recommended enough time before closing. Pricing is $18 for adults, $10 for kamaʻāina, and children 12 and under are free.
